Isanga Bay is a six chalet lodge on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in the far north of Zambia close to the border of Zambia and Tanzania. Being so close to the equator, the lodge has an island paradise feel to it with great weather all year round and a view that will leave you mesmerized.
There are three chalets on the beach that have a beach and lake view. Guests with children love them, because the kids can go early morning and play in the sand without immediate supervision. The three rondavels on the other side have no beach, but overlook the rocks with amazing views out to the Lake. These chalets are built with rock and are thatched.
The Lodge sleeps only 20 people and all rooms are a couple of minutes away from the beach. Each chalets has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water shower and toilet. There are no power points, however, we do have a facility to charge phones, lap tops and cameras. We have no TV as we are deep in the bush and besides, you won't need one.
Rates include bed and breakfast - a full A La Carte menu is available for lunch and dinner. We cater for special dietary requirements when we are informed well in advance. Our speciality is delicious fresh fish from the lake - Nile perch and Nkupi. Dining times are flexible, when there are not more than two groups. We have an extensive bar with very reasonable prices.
What to bring along with you, a hat and suntan cream, swimming costumes, toiletries and medications, insect repellent and malaria prophylactics, binoculars, a torch, jacket for evenings round the fire and comfortable shoes.
Isanga Bay is 54.8km from the centre of Lake Tanganyika , the nearest airport 515.4km (Mfuwe International Airport). *Distances are shown as the crow flies and not necessarily the actual travelling
